Virtual Design: SuitShop Stores

Hello! This month we’re taking you behind the scenes to give you a tour of some of the stores we recently completed for SuitShop – a modern, inclusive suit company with stores in Atlanta, Denver, Boston, Philadelphia, Houston (and coming soon!) Columbus, Ohio. The coolest thing about this project (other than getting to work with a progressive brand, run by two amazing women doing amazing things) is that we did all the design virtually. And fun fact- designing retail stores is how we got started in interior design! Check out the tour to see how we pulled this off. And of course, if you have any questions or want to comment you know where to find me- just hit reply! Sending lots of ❤️,

BEHIND THE SCENES: SUITSHOP’S VIRTUAL TRANSFORMATION

At Gala Magriñá Design, we specialize not only in bringing your brand to life, but in virtual design solutions that allow your team to hit the ground running as you expand from a web-based business to brick and mortar store fronts. Our collaboration with SuitShop showcases the power of remote design in bringing to life cohesive, powerful, and functional retail environments. We worked closely with SuitShop from initial conception to a detailed production plan to ensure that their team could easily understand and execute the design for a flawless final result. (And we think they hit it out of the park!)

CELEBRATING DIVERSITY AND FUNCTIONALITY

SuitShop’s commitment to inclusivity and style resonates deeply in each showroom we’ve designed. After all – the company’s tagline is For Every Body. The Atlanta flagship, along with stores in Philadelphia, Boston, and Houston, embodies a welcoming atmosphere tailored to suit every person, in every gender, shape and size. We weaved modern shapes and colors with classic materials like velvet and leather for an updated take on the traditional, often overly masculine, suiting showroom.  We also incorporated celebratory elements like dance-floor-inspired areas with disco balls, creating spaces where clients can show off their wedding ‘fits’ to the rest of the bridal party or take the perfect group selfie. Mannequins of all genders and body types greet guests as they enter the space and show off SuitShop’s most popular styles. As GMD got its start in retail, we knew that functionality had to be just as dialed in as the beauty of the space. We maximized hanging space on the floor to make finding the right style and size a breeze for both employee and customer. As this design was virtual, and we knew it would be replicated in other stores with local installers, we also ensured that all fixtures were modular, easy to ship, and easy to install.

VIRTUAL COLLABORATION FOR REAL-WORLD RESULTS

Working with SuitShop to bring their brand identity into their showrooms across the US was one of our favorite retail projects to date. Our partnership with this women-led brand underscores the effectiveness of virtual design and collaboration in commercial interior design. We worked closely with them throughout the virtual design process, and gave them all of the tools they needed to bring their vision for an all-gender suiting showroom to life. Look for SuitShop popping up in more cities across the US soon!
