INTERIOR DESIGN AS WELLNESS

It’s simple: we are energetically connected to our spaces. They are reflections of who we are on the inside. Knowing this, we can work on our spaces, which in turn results in the experience of huge transformations within ourselves.

Studies show that our homes, communities and surrounding environment directly affect our daily motivations, behaviors and lifestyle, and these factors determine 80-90% of our health outcomes. Our spaces matter. This month we spoke with Refinery 29 about this concept and how interior design is the new form of wellness.

BROOKLYN PRO BONO PROJECT

Our first Zoom meeting with Marisol
Our first Zoom meeting with Marisol

We believe that good design impacts lives and we want to do good things for great people. When we first met Marisol, D and S and learned about all the adversity they were facing, we also experienced firsthand that in the face of everything life was throwing their way, they remained positive, playful and happy. Creating a beautiful and healthy home for them became a MUST.

So far we have received paint donations from Sherwin Williams, flooring from Carpet Time and a desk set up for D. from Wayfair. This hasn’t been enough to get the home where it needs to be for this incredible family so we have also begun a fundraiser. If you are interested in helping out, please head to our Go Fund Me page to read more about the family and see photos of the space they are currently living in that we want to improve for them. For donations of $150 or more, Gala is doing 15-minute virtual space readings where she will explain what your space is saying about you, where you might be having issues in your life, as well as offer some simple modifications to improve the space both physically and energetically.

MEET SOME OF OUR FRIENDS – CORPORATE WELLNESS

Corporate Wellness

Last month we participated in a webinar hosted by the Global Wellness Institute and met Kristin Markey, CEO and Founder of Nest Health Connections, a corporate wellness business. Kristin’s model prior to the pandemic was very high touch; she and her team worked on-site with her clients to provide everything they need to create a culture of wellbeing.  Her services are extensive ranging from classes on nutrition, stress management, sleep, energy, fitness, yoga, meditation and more.  They install corporate gardens, offer cooking classes, relaxation rooms, smoothie bars and when all employees are working from home you would have thought this business would pretty much dry up.  Kristin and her team quickly shifted and now offer all programming virtually.  Her reach and engagement have expanded and now Nest Health Connections is working in several international markets as well. Check out the website – www.nesthealthconnections.com for more info.  Kristin is offering my followers a free employee wellness survey if you reach out (just mention my name) – i[email protected]
